Audible Distribution and Processing Times

Edited

Publishing an audiobook to Audible works differently from distribution to many other retailers.

After your audiobook has been submitted to Audible through Voices by INaudio, Audible/ACX must process and review the title before it can become available for sale.

How long does Audible distribution take?

Please allow approximately 45–60 days for Audible processing.

This timeframe may include:

  • Submission and association of the audiobook with Audible/ACX

  • Audible's internal processing

  • Quality and metadata review

  • Final review before publication

Processing times are controlled by Audible/ACX and may vary depending on their current review volume and the specific title.

Some audiobooks may complete the process sooner, while others may require additional time.

My audiobook says it is in review. What does that mean?

If your title is currently in review with Audible/ACX, the submission has already progressed through the distribution process and is awaiting Audible's review.

At this stage, there is usually no additional action required from you unless INaudio or Audible contacts you requesting a correction or additional information.

Please allow Audible time to complete the review.

Why is my audiobook already live at other retailers but not Audible?

Each retailer processes audiobook submissions independently.

It is normal for an audiobook to become available at Spotify, Apple Books, Kobo, or other retailers before it appears on Audible.

Availability at another retailer does not necessarily indicate a problem with the Audible submission.

I recently added Audible to an existing project

If Audible was added after your audiobook was originally published, please:

  1. Select Audible in the Distribution section.

  2. Save your changes.

  3. Click Republish.

Because Audible uses a separate submission process, additional processing may be required after you republish.

If you added Audible after the project's initial publication and are unsure whether the submission was received correctly, please contact Support with your Project ID or ISBN.

I updated my audiobook after it was submitted to Audible

Changes made in Voices, including updates to:

  • Audio files

  • Cover artwork

  • Metadata

  • Chapter information

should always be Saved and Republished.

For most retailers, Republish sends the update through the normal distribution workflow.

Audible updates may require additional processing or resubmission.

If you make significant changes to a title that has already been submitted to Audible, please contact Support after republishing and let us know what was changed.

Does republishing restart the entire Audible process?

Not necessarily.

The amount of additional processing required depends on the type of update and the current Audible status of the audiobook.

Audible determines how submitted changes are reviewed and how long they take to appear.

When should I contact Support?

Please contact Support if:

  • Your title requires an update after it was already submitted to Audible.

  • Audible reports that the title is claimed or associated with another ACX account.

  • Audible requests additional information or corrections.

  • Your audiobook has been in processing significantly longer than the expected 45–60 day timeframe.

  • You are moving an audiobook between Voices and your own ACX account.

For normal Audible processing within the expected timeframe, no action is required.

Important

Retailer processing is not immediate, and Voices by INaudio cannot control Audible/ACX review times.

Once your title has been successfully submitted, please allow approximately 45–60 days for processing before assuming there is an issue.

Please note that Audible/Amazon does not support strict release dates. Our team will do everything we can to have your title live on Audible as quickly as possible.
